Rain is about good times and putting the audience on the dance floor. Remember the music that helped make the great times great? That’s what Rain is about! Rain plays the good-time songs you remember, mostly from the 60’s and 70’s. You’ll know all the words. With timeless classics by Wilson Pickett, The Beatles, John Mellencamp, The Doobie Brothers, Marvin Gaye, Bob Seger, Van Morrison, Stevie Wonder, Queen, Joe Cocker, and lots more (even a little Travis Tritt), plus some one-hit-wonders you might have forgotten about, Rain intends to keep you on the dance floor from start to finish.
Rain was formed in early 2004 from seasoned musicians in the Wichita, Kansas area. Now a first-call band for concerts and special events of all kinds, you may have seen them at the Wheatland Jam Festival, the Cotillion Ballroom or on the West Bank Stage at the Wichita River Festival, opening concerts for Boston, Journey, REO Speedwagon and .38 Special. Or perhaps you’ve seen Rain at events for Raytheon Aircraft, Cessna Aircraft, the American Diabetes Association, MDA Bikers for Babies or private parties and nightclubs around the region.
The six players, and their soundman, are about making the music as good as they can make it, and making sure everyone is having fun. Everyone’s ears and ideas go into making each Rain selection fresh but faithful to the original. With Rocky’s powerful vocals and the band’s tight arrangements, Rain takes the audience on a roller-coaster dynamic musical journey it won’t soon forget. Rain prides itself on not just playing songs, but putting on an interactive show. A great mix of outstanding musicianship and just plain fun!
Same Az U
Same Az U Featuring Jack Schmidt is Hutchinson's premier cover band. Formed in the summer of 2004, Same Az U brings more than 75 years of combined experience to the stage.
To say that Same Az U is a "Rock & Roll" cover band may be a bit misleading. Performing everything from Rock, Disco, Blues, Country, Same Az U brings a wide variety of music to the stage, and performs it all with the same professional through-the-roof energy level. Leading the way are two strong vocalists, Tessy Salisbury and Scott Diggs, giving SAU the ability to perform a versatile show with two unique front people. Tessy with her bluesy tones, and Scott with that rock & roll growl gives SAU the edge when it comes to music selection. Rounding out the line-up are Doug Mitchell on guitar, Brad Wingert on drums and percussion, and Craig Parrott on bass and backing vocals.
Same Az U takes a unique approach to its performances: once a set is begun, the music doesn't stop until the end of the set. The band mixes its songs much like a DJ mixes music for a seamless presentation. Whether it's for 30 people or 3000, you get the same high energy show. If it's a total entertainment package you're looking for, Same Az U has it!

Stimulus
Julie "BeauHemia" Brin - lead vocals Scott "Wigs" Wiggins - bass & vox Jim "The Mouth" DeBauche - guitar & vox Max "The Axe" Ullum - guitar
Wichita’s Stimulus provides the excitement of a concert with the intimacy of a club. Formed at the onset of 2009, the experienced performers came together from local bands such as The Tone Doctors, Half of Reason and Amaiya. Despite their novelty as a band, they have already performed at the Wichita River Festival and played such venues as The Horn, The Pump House, America’s Pub, Newman University, and Bigs.
Stimulus covers the best of rock, pop and alternative music spanning the last four decades. Favorite tunes from their high-energy, four-hour set list include Hit Me With Your Best Shot, You Oughtta Know, Ready to Go, Long Train Running, Summer of ’69, Black Horse and a Cherry Tree, and Your Mama Don’t Dance. (Of course, it’s hard to pick just a few favorites!) The members of Stimulus are music lovers through and through, with musical inspirations such as the Eagles, Heart, Clapton, Santana, Pink Floyd, Radiohead… and the list could go on.
The Boomers
The Boomers are a three-piece band playing rock and roll music from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s as well as contemporary country, blues and classic ballads.
L. D. Mingle has played in a wide variety of bands and types of music, but has come back to his first love: good 'ol classic rock and roll. He plays a Stratocaster, a Telecaster and a Les Paul Special as well as a Roland GR30 guitar synth to round out the big sound of the Boomers. Besides the Boomers he plays with the River City Jam and one of the Ascension Lutheran praise bands.
After years of gigging up and down the East Coast Tom ("Just Tom") relocated to Wichita as part of the witless protection program. Tom has sung, played bass, guitar and keyboards for Wichita bands Chaser, The Smith Bros, Full House, The Powerglides and Code Blue. He is also a member of River City Jam, Cool Blue and the Swinging Dead Monkeys. Tom plays Lace Helix and Michael Kelly basses and sings with the Boomers.
Joni Mingle started playing with her dad at home in a family jam night at about 8. She was not allowed play drums in school so she chose the tuba! After she got out of school she got herself a drum set and started taking lessons. She would like to thank Steve for the lessons and for introducing her to the most wonderful man her husband L.D.! Joni has played in local bands for the last 25 years and enjoys almost all types of music. She drums on a standard five-piece Tama Swingstar drum set with Paiste and Zildjan cymbals. Besides the Boomers she plays in one of the Ascension Lutheran praise bands.
